A 52-week Excel planner that shows which vessel occupies each dry dock, outfitting quay and repair berth across a year. It is meant for yard planning and commercial teams who must fit new construction, repairs and layups into the same waterfront and want to see clashes before committing to a date.
What's inside: one worksheet, "Berth Planner", with a header for the yard, the Planning Period Start date and the horizon. The left part of the table has seven columns: Vessel / Hull No., Owner, Purpose, Duration in days, Start Date, End Date (calculated from start and duration) and Status. The right part is a weekly grid of 52 columns whose bars are drawn by conditional formatting in four colours for new construction, repair, outfitting and layup. The sample yard has five facilities (Dry Dock 1, Dry Dock 2, Outfitting Quay A, Outfitting Quay B and a Repair Berth) and 12 occupancy rows for 11 fictional vessels, one of which moves from dry dock to outfitting quay.
How to use it: rename the facility headings to match your yard and delete the sample vessels. Add one row per occupancy under the facility it uses, entering start date and duration, and the bar moves and resizes. Because each occupancy sits on its own row, a double booking shows up as two bars overlapping in the same weeks under one facility heading. Change the planning start date to roll the grid forward.
Limits: overlaps are visual only; there is no automatic clash warning or capacity count. Status is typed by hand and does not follow the dates. Occupancies that run past week 52 are cut off at the edge of the grid.
